Here are photos I took while running the 2009 Race to the Top of Vermont.

This race to the top of Mt. Mansfield (the highest peak in Vermont) is beautiful, and not nearly as hard as it might appear in these photos. The road to the summit has occasional parts where the grade gets (relatively) easy, so you can recharge as you continue onward and upward. (Unlike Mt. Washington, which has a 12% grade that never gives up!)

I ran with a camera, and took pictures as I ran. (Yes, I took photos as I ran. I didn't stop or slow down. After all, I was in a race!) Here are photos I took at the 2009 Witch City Triathlon in Salem, MA.

This Sprint-distance triathlon consists of a 1/2-mile Open Water Swim, a 12-mile bike leg, and a 5K run. Fellow Mystic Runners Jeff Mader and Bob Lane joined me so we could compete as a relay team.

I swam...                                  Jeff rode his bike....                           ...and Bob ran.
