Please help me! I don't want to run ALONE! I need a partner for a race on February 15!

No comments:
Solo run on the last day of January, 2014, in Lexington, MA

I run every day.
(At least a mile--every single day--
since January 1, 2013.)

On weekdays I run hills.
Steep hills.

And I run them alone.

As you can see from this photo, I enjoy these solo runs.

But not on the weekend!

Weekends were made for races!

Runners gather from miles around to
flow down the road like a river!

We frolic and leap like salmon swimming upstream!

A race is coming up on February 15:
The Love em or Leave em 5K in Malden, MA.

It has a terrific concept!
You run with a partner.

Maybe your romantic partner.
Maybe a friend or a family member.

But someone!  Your partner in a team.
And the two of you run the race.

You might run together.
Or separately, at your own pace.

Whatever feels right.

At the finish line, your time will be added
to your partner's, to get a "Team Time."

Which, to be frank--
is beside the point.

Because once you cross the finish line
you'll be reaching out your hand--

--for a well-earned glass of beer or wine.
(If you are over 21.)

And that's why I'm begging you!

Don't let me run alone!

I want a partner for this race!

If you enter the contest below,
you will have a chance to win a free race entry.

The winner gets to run for free.
He or she will not have to run at my pace.
I won't have to run at his, or hers.

We'll both run as fast as we can.
And after we cross the finish line,
we'll enjoy the post-race refreshments.

To enter your name in this contest,
please answer the following quiz:

"Run With Ken" has never run WHAT kind of race:

1)  Mt. Washington Road Race

2)  Boston Marathon

3)  5K Open Water Swim

4)  Olympic-distance Triathlon

5)  Halloween-themed race

6)  Valentines-day-themed race

I will pick one winner, from the correct entries
received by 11:59 pm  EST on Friday, February 7.

(I will pick one winning entry from the comments to this blog,
merged with the submissions on Facebook and on Twitter.)

Good luck!

(P.S.  The winner won't have to run with me.

Maybe you're faster than I am.
Maybe I'm faster than you.

Just run as fast as you can!
I'll run as fast as I can.

At the the end, our finish times will be
totaled to give us a team score.

Then we'll raise a beverage together,

to salute our run!)
