Open water is magical.

Haunting.

It calls to us with an irresistible pull.

Ask any swimmer!

Swimming in the short narrow lanes of a pool
is nothing like swimming in natural water,
under the great bowl of the sky.

Here is the the sight that greeted me at sunrise,
shortly before the start of the Marshfield-Duxbury Triathlon
in Duxbury, MA.

The Atlantic:

Wide.
Calm.
Beckoning.

Do you hear its call?
